Abstract
Consider a continuously operating system.
A problem that arises in practice and is related to the optimal operation of the system is
how to allocate limited repair resources in a most efficient manner, i. e. to maximize a
measure of system performance. In this paper, we discuss the problem of existence of
uniformly optimal dynamic repair allocation policies in K-out-of-N two tier systems, where
the underlying structure is that of -out-of-
systems with i. i. d. exponential lifetime components,
the failure rate of which belongs in a neighborhood of 0. It is proved that a unique sush
policy exists, depending on the state of the system and the particular structure under
consideration.
