Abstract

The paper presents the philosophy, the aim, the development, the advantages, and the potential shortcomings of the TUC strategy that employs a multivariable regulator approach to the problem of traffic-responsive urban network control. Simulation investigations are used to demonstrate its efficiency. Summarised conclusions are presented, and future work is outlined.

Keywords: traffic-responsive control, urban network control, multivariable regulators.
