Abstract

The routing and congestion control problem in datagramm packet-switched networks is treated as a control problem and a decentralized state feedback regulator concept is developed. A state space model of the data traffic flow in the network is formulated and used as a basis for the control design. State feedback control is considered applying the LQ-Regulator methodology within a decentralized concept in order to keep the network overload with control related information packets low. The suggested control approach is validated on the basis of discrete event simulation.
