Abstract

In this paper, we present a ship weather routeing procedure that minimizes a fuel criterion. The minimization algorithm is designed so as to enable the ship power to respect her planned arrival time. Based on the dynamic programming procedure, in which the ship power is considered as an additional input variable, the method has been implemented using a simplified ship model and been tested on a tanker with different scenarios of the route weather conditions.
